Peter M. Haberlandt practices in the areas of civil and criminal appeals, federal criminal defense, personal injury and other torts, constitutional litigation, and commercial litigation. Mr. Haberlandt's appellate experience includes representing parties before the Connecticut Supreme and Appellate Courts. His notable cases include Kline v. Kline, 101 Conn. App. 402, cert. denied, 284 Conn. 901 (2007) and National Publishing Co., Inc. v. Hartford Fire Ins. Co., 287 Conn. 664 (2008). Mr. Haberlandt served as a law clerk to two appeals court judges: the Honorable Jon O. Newman of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the Honorable Eric L. Clay of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Haberlandt provides legal advice to a wide range of individual and institutional clients, including clients facing criminal or regulatory investigation by federal or state authorities, clients seeking guidance on issues of constitutional law, and clients in contractual or business disputes.
Mr. Haberlandt graduated in 2004 with high honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Connecticut Law Review and received various awards, including the University of Connecticut Law School Foundation Award for Exceptional Achievement in Scholarship. He received his undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Cornell University in 1999. After college, Mr. Haberlandt served as a trial preparation assistant in the Frauds Bureau of the New York County District Attorney's Office in New York City.
